Hello there welcome to this month’s edition of GLM’s BLG.

Since the last time I have spoke with you alot has happened. I’ve battled complacency tooth and nail, broke up with my girlfriend, and thats really it. Life is a revolving door always turning never stopping. I’ve lost myself in thought about whats truely my goal here. Once it was one thing then a month later its another thing. I’ll say I fought maybe 5 years for the same cause to no avail, although thats not something out of the ordinary for a plan of mine, Failure after failure.

Breaking up with my then at the time girlfriend now EX was something that had to be done. Unfortunately I don’t think I could ever give that woman what she wanted. Aswell as I don’t think a relationship is exactly what I needed and or wanted at that moment anyway very draining.

-Also side story about my ex:
One night I went out with some of my friends, and one of their friends to Skybar Auburn AL. Skybar a club loud with music stink with alcohol sometimes live musicians often lonely old men. While trying to find parking after making it the 45 min drive with a woman driver at night time. I pre-gamed my first bev in the backseat of the car on the way to parking while getting ready to disembark the vehicle I got a tingle. A Spidy sense I checked my phone looked at my ex’s location and she was en Route to my location down the road from her home. One drink in I look up coming up on the left is her. She pulls into the parking lot drives through slowly. I quickly glance fast enough to see but not to be seen. I identified her, and identified she was in her blue pajamas I know and recognize. Anyway it happened again she came back but at this point I comendeered the vehicle to flee her, and to find us a parking spot. Pulling out of the parking lot we sat we met her leaving I have never bent a corner so fast.

Work is going well still learning to be and electrician. Our team is amazing, but this past week on my birthday October 15th I left work early then on the day after I called out. I will say there was no baseless reason for calling out; I genuinely did not feel well enough to make the hour drive to work safely. I feel like I let the team down. thst feeling has overshadowed majority of the enjoyment of this extremely long weekend.

Knowledge I can pass off from my experience so far is that majority of what blue collar work is is just existing within the preexisting hierarchy which is typical. Hard work seems to be important, but it only maters so much to certain people who watch rather than preform. Most of electrical work is endurance rather than pure strength. I need to watch my mouth and check my emotions more often on the clock and kiss more ass I’ve been doing my own thing here asof recently and whilst it works its not the correct way in my particular possition.

Living life achieving small things feels different. Life feels different compared to 9 months ago. Life feels less tedious less of a waste of time.

My First week at my current jobsite, a third week apprentice; We were tasked with making up duplex receptacles along the warehouse floor. The sheer manpower employed for this task was insane there was maybe 14 people I’d say assisting on this project. Of the 14 people there was only 1 person considered a qualified person by our company and he was only hired on within the last few days. Directive went as follows: Put together, Terminate, Tape, Terminate, tape, put on wall. With the amount of people completing this task the singular man couldn’t oversee the entire process. I noticed minimal quality control. While its not “code” to put electric tape around a receptacle going into a metal box I can agree the best practice seems extremely safe. We finished the project I rang the bell like Paul Revere worried about bad terminations, no tape, and other poor QC issues. Then in the end yet again I worried for naught, apparently the color of every reptical was incorrect and needed to be replaced with grey rather than white. Although the second go-round everyone was aware of the standard and best practice to make an assuring bond.

Attention to detail is one of the most important traits in the trade industry so far.

Another thing learned is to protect my peace. If I can’t think and sleep how I want then its not for me. Living my life my head on a swivel 24/7 has become exhausting sleeping at the compound relieves me.

I’m not too sure how to format my research and findings into my blog format. I can make statements back those statements with resources from accredited institutions. Format Hypothesis’ that captivate the eye.

I also recently experienced my first ever electrical inspection in a facility under my rein. Before the inspection we were stationed in the cafeteria area running Cat6 through the drop ceiling to the main MDF room to control vending machines. While running this cable we had also decided to run power and a few more circuits down the wall. The lead electrician earlier in the week had cut in and ran MC to 2 receptacles further down the wall to service vending aswell connected from the existing circut. I seen and admired his work and questioned the legitimacy of the GFIC protected outlets within 6′ of the water source in the cafeteria. He reassured me everything would be fine since it was already preexisting from the previous tenet. Anyway fast forward 3 weeks later the sub-contracted electrical crew was finishing up adding 6 new GFIC outlets around the counter in the cafeteria. Moral of the flat sprite story is my attention to detail is onpar with the best and possibly the complacent I’ve just gotta maintain my aptitude and or improve.

Perfection is the goal everytime. Aiming for the stars 99% of the time. Never settle for less.
